Essential functions of a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting:
A Senior Manager at Deloitte is expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including:
* Business Development: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
* Client Management: Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors
* Engagement Management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
* Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals
* People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices
Senior Managers in the Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing practice are required to have:
* 10 years of relevant consulting or industry experience
* At least 4 years of experience managing large technology engagements
* A minimum of 6 full life cycle implementations
* A willingness to travel 80 - 100% of the time (Monday - Thursday/Friday)
* Proficient in one or more of major ETL tools such as Informatica, Datastage, SAS and their administration
* Proficient in one or more of major BI Reporting tools such as Business Objects, Hyperion, Cognos, SAS and their administration
* Proficient in one or more of major metadata tools and their administration
* Proficient in one or more of major OLAP tools such as MicroStrategy, Hyperion, Brio, SAS and their administration
* Proficient in one or more of major data modeling tools such as Erwin, Data Architect, Oracle Designer and their administration
In addition, successful Senior Managers will have the following preferred background:
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
* Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
* Eagerness to mentor junior staff
* An advanced degree in the area of specialization
* Experience managing vendor selection and contracts
* Experience providing oversight support to the development team
* Experience leading or validate the proposed business process model and identify strategy for business readiness
* Experience identifying business opportunities to increase usability and profitability and information architecture
* Ability to create scalable technology solutions which can evolve with minimal impact on infrastructure and operations
* Ability to conduct organizational analysis
* Ability to plan governance model execution and train governance board to be self-sustaining
* Ability to identify critical application integration issues and recommend solutions
* Ability to provide technical recommendations for performance issues including: application integration optimization, platform hardware analysis, architecture optimization techniques, and performance troubleshooting techniques
Preferred Industry Experience: relevant public sector/state government or private health care related experience:
* 2-3 years State government health care related experience (e.g. Medicaid, public health, or related agency program, policy, or operations experience)
* 5 or more years of relevant information management, data management, business intelligence, datawaerhouse, technology planning, management consulting or industry experience.
* Bachelor's Degree
* Masters of Public Administration or Public Policy Degree a plus
* Must be able to travel 80% of the time.
State Health experience with knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
* Understanding of the role and complexities of Health Information Exchange implementation & related technologies. Good understanding of Health Information Technology planning techniques and the implications on various stakeholders.
* Good understanding of the role of Medicaid, special needs, public health and long term care programs and how they will be impacted by HIE and HIT initiatives
