JOB DESCRIPTION:
PBX - Telephone Operator (Part-time)

Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a talented career minded, dedicated guest service professional with a passion for excellence to join our switchboard operators (PBX) team. The operators are responsible for:
* Offering authentic hospitality to all our external and internal guests over the telephone.
* Answering incoming internal and external calls according to Hyatt standards and transferring them to the appropriate extensions.
* Handling basic guest questions and complaints with a focus on guest satisfaction and problem resolution
* Preparing, sorting, and handling internal written and verbal communication for both guests and fellow associates
* Recording and delivering wake up calls with 100% accuracy
* Receiving, tracking and following up on all guest requests and dispatching requests to the appropriate departments
* Handling emergency situations and dispatching emergency personnel
This positions starts at $13.49 per hour, after six months increases to $15.74 per hour, and after one year increases to $17.99 per hour. Qualifications
* Must be able to work various shifts (mostly weekends, evenings, and overnights including holidays)
* Ability to sit for long periods of time
* Customer service experience preferred
*
Ability to offer excellent, genuine service to all guests with a true desire to satisfy the needs of others
*
Ability to work well independently and within a team
*
Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment and handle multiple priorities
*
Proficient computer literacy and skills and familiarity with Microsoft office applications
*
Fluency in English and excellent verbal communication skills
*
Knowledge of a second language is an asset
*
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
