JOB DESCRIPTION:
Human Resources Business Partner
Overview:
As a strategic partner, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP serves as a hands-on HR representative to management on Human Resource related issues. Successful HRBP will act as a HR line manager, employee champion and change agent. HRBP assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with various departments of our HR department, HR Leadership and business management. The HRBP seeks to develop integrated and coordinated solutions with HRBP’s in other business units. The HRBP is a hands-on HR expert and formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units financial position, its mid and long range plans, its culture and its objectives.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct weekly meetings with the head of their business units and senior staff.
2. Conduct New Hire Orientation in their business unit.
3. Conducts / manages recruitment for business unit.
4. Anticipates HR needs within the business unit and takes coordinated steps to meet them.
5. Consult with line management providing HR guidance when appropriate.
6. Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
7. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. 8. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required.
9. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
10. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
11. Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
12. Directly recruits several open positions within the business unit and coordinates recruitment of all other open positions in the business unit.
13. Recommends and assists in the develop of terms for new hires, promotions, transfers.
14. May assist int'l nurses with assignments and related HR matters.
15. Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
16. Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 8 - 10 years of the resolution of complex employee relation issues.
2. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including employment, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union-free relations, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
3. Relevant Healthcare industry experience a plus.
4. Bi-lingual Spanish / English a plus.
