Under general direction, assists the Regional Controller and the Regional Management Team in driving business results with the Branch Managers. Coordinates the planning and control of financial results consistent with long-term business objectives. Provides training, counseling and support to Branch Managers and Regional Teams on a wide variety of business/financial issues to ensure satisfactory branch performance versus Plans for each location.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Proactively works with the Regional Controller, Regional Management Team and Branch Managers to improve actual financial results consistent with operating plan commitments and objectives for each Branch.
2. Assists in business evaluations to identify future opportunities for improvement and barriers to achieving strategic and financial objectives.
3. Reviews monthly financial results and business metrics for the region as a whole and each branch. Identifies issues and proposes corrective actions to the Regional Controller.
4. Assists in providing financial training and support to the Branch Managers to improve their financial and business skills so they can more effectively manage their business.
5. Increases the financial awareness of non-financial employees through training on financial measurements and interrelationships, asset management techniques, planning, forecasting and control procedures.
6. Assists with monthly branch performance reviews with an on-site visit at least once per month per branch. Branch performance reviews include, among other things, reviewing the backlog of work, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow with the Branch Team.
7. Identifies best business practices and facilitates the propagation of these practices to other branches.
8. Coordinates the financial/business planning and forecasting process for the region and branches. Provides input and guidance to the Branch Manager. Reviews the branch plans and forecasts for alignment with business objectives, market opportunities and ability to execute. Provides recommendations to the Regional Controller.
9. Develops, where necessary, effective control procedures to supplement Corporate and Division procedures. Ensures Branch compliance with procedures.
10. Ensures compliance with established administrative processes and procedures through inspection and follow up with the Field Admin Manager and Shared Services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. Minimum of six years of progressive financial experience in all aspects of business control. Ability to support and control financial results in a multi-location field operation. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with strong problem solving capabilities. Familiarity with IT systems as they relate to financial functions and operational areas. Individual PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel. Willingness to travel extensively (50 - 60%).
