Application Management Services: Provide complete operations services for application management, custom development, and business process outsourcing for clients. Develop the post implementation go-live support environment, construct the transition plan from the project team to the support team, and support and maintain the client applications and technology infrastructure

Essential functions of an Associate at Deloitte Consulting:

An Associate at Deloitte leverages deep subject matter knowledge in an area of interest to lend additional credibility to their project teams and add value to their projects. An Associate works within an engagement team and is responsible for identifying business requirements, requirements management, functional design, prototyping, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), testing, training, defining support procedures and supporting implementations.

Associates in the Technology and Process Management practice are required to have:

Tasks and Responsibilities

* Functions as technical expert for one or more systems management functions, such as Performance and Capacity Management, System Configuration Management, Release Management, Build Coordination, Batch Job Scheduling, Production Control Board, and System Administration.
* Coordinates implementation of tested system changes with functional teams to determine priorities, schedule new builds and releases, and maintain the production calendar.
* Manages Configuration Item promotion, build, and deployment across environments. Prepare builds for production release and supports production releases. Performs code deliveries and merges code between streams. Builds applications and deploys to non-production environments.
* Maintains the batch schedule and run books for both production and non-Production environments. Supports the Tivoli Workload Schedule (TWS) Job Scheduler tool used in production and by developers and testers.
* Provides environment support for all environments (production and nonproduction) across tools WebSphere, Hyperion, Adobe Forms products, Finalist, Content Manager, MQSeries, WebSEAL, TAMe, TWS.
* Manages the account request process for all environments. Monitors system security and investigates security incidents.
* Develops and maintains ClearQuest scripts (Perl), WebSphere scripts (Java TCL or Java Python), AIX scripts (Korn shell), Build scripts (Ant).
* Supports application testing by tracking high severity defects.
* Coordinates release status with Department executives and managers, business units, and production support.
* Monitors system performance and capacity, batch processes, and external interface file transfers.
* Provides problem resolution support, specific to systems and server issues; identifies and resolves system/server problems, coordinating with application users to determine symptoms and ensure accurate problem definition.
* Assists in development and improvement of operations' plans, processes, procedures, standards and priorities.
* Maintains direct knowledge of all operations management and technical processes, procedures, quality standards, and status of service delivery for all operations-related activities. Proposes systems management process improvements and additions.

Qualifications

* Eight (8) years of progressively complex experience and advanced-level skill in analysis, architecture, design, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of information systems hardware and software, four (4) of which must have been in a technical lead position.
* Three (3) years experience and advanced-level skill supporting very large, complex automated systems comprising at least ten (10) servers, at least 1,000 internal and/or external users, and using both custom and off-the-shelf enterprise and business applications.
* Certification in system administration disciplines, such as IBM Certified Specialist (AIX).
* Advanced-level skill and knowledge in systems software integration and support, as evidenced by the following:
* Three (3) years experience in a lead role as a system software specialist
* Advanced-level skill and knowledge and experience in the following enterprise system architecture technology areas:
* Web-based thin client architecture
* Web site design, implementation, management, and administration
* Unix-based operating system (e.g., AIX, HPUX, SunOS, Solaris, Ultrix, Linux, etc.), including Unix scripting languages (e.g., Korn shell, C shell, Bourne shell)
* Message-oriented middleware
* System-to-system interfaces
* Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
* Web development languages and techniques, including HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript
* Use of modeling, administration, monitoring, and configuration management tools applicable to databases, operating systems, and/or networks
* Advanced-level skill and knowledge in systems management concepts, including at least six (6) of the following:
* Service Level Management
* Quality Control Management
* Operations Problem Management/Change Management
* Recovery Management, Performance Management, Capacity Management
* Help Desk Management
* Advanced-level knowledge and experience with at least three (3) of the following Java application architecture-related technologies:
* Hibernate & HQL (Hibernate Query Language, SQL extension)
* Spring Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), configuration and usage
* Java Management Extensions (JMX), Java Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB), Java unit testing framework, e.g., JUnit and Easy Mock, Java Diagnostics, e.g., Wily Introscope and jProbe
* Advanced-level knowledge and experience with IBM systems, web services and message-oriented middleware software technologies, including at least six (6) of the following
* WebSphere architecture and design, console, user administration, and security
* WebSphere Business Integration Architecture and Patterns
* WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition (WSADIE)
* MQ Series use and administration, MQ Workflow
* IBM Directory Server
* DB2
* Tivoli, including Workload Scheduler, Policy Director, TAMe, and WebSEAL
* Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) patterns, topologies, and tools
* File Transfer protocols and tools, including Secure File Transfer
* AIX, including Korn shell scripting
* System and performance testing tools
* Ability to act in a lead capacity on the most complex applications, and/or on the most complex system architecture problems and can work independently as a high level technical specialist.
* Ability to analyze data and situations, identify and solve problems, reason logically and creatively, draw valid conclusions, develop effective solutions, apply creative thinking, and design methods and processes.
* Excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with both co-workers and customers or application users.
* This position is located in Sacramento, CA. No relocation will be provided.
