Alcoa Business System (ABS/Lean Manufacturing) Manager

Our Cleveland works location is part of our Engineered Products and Solutions Business and specifically producing product for Alcoa Forgings and Extrusions and Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products.
The Alcoa Business System (ABS) is an integrated set of systems and tools organized to provide a common language and unencumbered transfer of knowledge across businesses and geographies. It focuses on serving customer demand by emphasizing the elimination of all waste and making what the customer wants, when the customer wants it. ABS is our internal form of Lean Principles.
This ABS Manager will provide leadership, coaching and support for all continuous improvement activities at Cleveland Works facility focusing on critical productivity gains, product quality and cost reductions while always supporting and driving Environment, Health, and Safety principles. The position will be accountable for Kaizen execution across the plant in all areas ensuring deployment and ownership of the methodology.
Under the direction of the Cleveland Works Plant Manager, the ABS Manager will:
* Lead activities to move towards a problem-solving and execution culture.
* Manage the development, delivery, and continuous process improvement of ABS systems and tools.
* Act as ABS administrator, trainer, coach, and resource for Cleveland Works Plant.
* Implementing ABS Tools at production centers or offices to create business stabilization.
* Eliminating waste throughout the workplace creating a safer and more efficient environment.
* Tracking ABS Tools’ impact/progress on equipment or work areas.
* Assisting in the installation of standardized work into production crews.
* Providing problem-solving methods and training to production crews.
* Cash generation through continuous improvement.
* Communicating with all levels internally as well as dealing with customer communications.
* Drive Degree of Implementation (DI) implementation at Cleveland Works Plant.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree required with 8 years of significant manufacturing industry experience, with a minimum of 5 in an environment of lean manufacturing system deployment
* Experience in improving business operations through implementation of lean manufacturing systems while being a recognized subject matter expert in Lean Manufacturing Systems
* Proven experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with multiple levels of an organization
* Experience delivering results as a change agent and providing change management within a manufacturing environment
Skills
* Strong influencing skills with a high degree of credibility
* Ability to work well with cross functional teams support continuous improvement
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering is preferred with the above basic qualifications
* Internal experience with ABS
* Forging technology and knowledge of Aluminum machining, inspection, and procedures
