JOB DESCRIPTION:
Account Executive
The Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) business at Microsoft includes the Microsoft Dynamics line of business applications including both Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) products. The team is specifically looking for an strong account executive to represent the CRM business. This role will help raise the visibility for Microsoft CRM in key CRM and IT/ industry trade publications and events. Responsibilities may include managing pro-active and reactive news cycles, award submissions, writing briefings, event participation and the preparation of all related materials. Ideal candidates will have the ability to build solid relationships with influential's (new and traditional media), work with a diverse set of clients, and have a solid understanding of social media as well as IT influential and tech industry landscape. Previous business applications and Microsoft PR/AR experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities: • Drive some day-to-day management of specific accounts, including planning and execution, and project management. • Write background materials, organize briefing bookings, develop presentations. • Implement account programs and maintain regular contact with client. • Develop a thorough understanding and knowledge of clients’ business and their competitive environment. • Develop editorial/journalistic/media contacts and develop relationships with key media. • Implement media events, press conferences/briefings and media tours. • Prepare a full range of written materials including press releases, byline articles, client correspondence and reports. • Contribute to the development of account plans.
Qualifications: Education: • A BA/BS degree in communications or marketing is preferred Experience Preferred: • At least 3 years experience in PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within the high tech industry. 4-5 years experience preferred. • Strong presentation and research skills. • Ability to drive client relationships, providing strategic and tactical advice, drafting and implementing plans, providing thoughtful analysis, identifying proactive opportunities, crafting briefing materials, tracking coverage • Demonstrated ability to establish strong client relationships • Solid media relations experience • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and balance priorities • Demonstrated client service orientation • High level of initiative
